Waited until I could sit on my screened porch and read your news. I savor the descriptions of your travels and appreciate the beauty, honesty and lens you share. Can’t wait to have dinner or lunch or breakfast whenever we can. Until then, keep the missives coming and your part out going…

I share your growing fatigue with so many months on the move. We’ve been on the boat for 7 months and it’s time to be back at home for a while. We did a 45-hour run from the Abacos to St Augustine, another overnight from there to Charleston, then an overnight to Cape Fear, and now we’re in Beaufort NC motoring up the ICW. The best part of the winter was hanging on a mooring ball in Hope Town harbor for 2 months, where we found our “tribe” both on land and on boats in the harbor. Met tons of lovely, interesting people, did lots of watercolors, water aerobics, volunteered at the library, sewed wine bags to raise money for the lighthouse, etc. it was wonderful. We came within a hair of buying a second sailboat to leave down there as a permanent place on the water to fly back and forth to, avoiding this long trip up and down the ICW. Luckily that Bristol 32 did not work out at survey so we are spared the craziness of owning 2 sailboats!🤪 we hope to see you sometime if our paths cross before you go to Idaho! We will be back within about 10 days, we think.

I have to tell you … when we were feeling road-weary, we said more than once that we were glad we were doing this with more space than we would have in a boat! Good for you, hanging in there, and congrats on note ending up with TWO sailboats!
