What beautiful photos. My favorite is the Lone Wader for the colors of the sea. Thanks Louis.

I love Louis’ photos. I remember, fondly, in August 1983 Louis and I were doing a story on beach weekends at Beidaihe China. Louis saw a shot across the beach, with an umbrella, a breeze, a sunset and a rippling ocean. He worked on that shot for more than an hour. A single impressionable shot. It was the perfect closing shot for our story. Bob Hurst

Beach, umbrella, breeze, sunset, ocean, an hour for the perfect shot? Yup, that would be Louis, and I can assure you he hasn’t budged an inch from his dedication to perfection in those intervening 42 (!) years. (The writer)
